The news of Suzy's failure quickly reached the woman. "Damn it! She must've done it on purpose. Otherwise,

The woman had thought Suzy had finally relented, but instead, she'd been played like a fool. Furious, she was
tempted to tear Suzy apart on the spot.

She summoned one of her subordinates and whispered something in his ear. "Once it's done, make sure Suzy

After Suzy had been subdued, Evangeline went to find Dylan. "General Wright, | originally planned to tell you
about this in the morning. It's quite late, and | didn't want to disturb you. But after thinking it over, | realized
waiting might not be the best choice, so here | am."

second thought. But considering she's your ex-wife, even though you're no longer married, | thought it was best
to inform you about this."
Dylan feigned disbelief. "You're saying my ex-wife broke in just now and
threatened to kill you?"
"Exactly. | even thought of having the two of you meet, but she wasn't willing. For now,

"Manipulated?" Dylan frowned, a trace of skepticism in his voice. "From the way you're speaking, it sounds like

you should check on her. It's best not to let her stew in her thoughts for too long."
Dylan studied Evangeline for a moment, hoping to coax more information from her, but she remained tight-
lipped.
Hiding the flicker of frustration in his gaze, he replied, "Technically, we're divorced and shouldn't have any reason
to be involved anymore. But if it helps you, Ms. Ford, I'll go see
her."
The guest house at Evangeline's estate wasn't far, just a few minutes walk. Though Suzy was technically being
detained, her accommodations were nothing short of luxurious.
When Dylan arrived, Suzy wasn't the least bit surprised. She had already guessed Evangeline would arrange for
them to meet. After all, with Dylan's status, it wouldn't be so easy to simply deal with his ex-wife without
consequences. Feigning annoyance, Suzy didn't wait for Dylan to speak before snapping, "I've already said we're
