Chapter 0544
Chapter 0544
Back in his room, Dylan struggled to calm the storm raging in his mind.
He knew his avoidance would only leave Suzy disappointed and angry, but he genuinely didn't want to drag her
down with him.
Unable to sleep, he tossed and turned until he finally gave in and drank a bit of alcohol to settle his nerves. The
numbing effect of the alcohol eventually helped him drift off into a deep sleep.
When he woke up, it was already ten in the morning.
After freshening up and dressing, he left his room. Though confined to a wheelchair, Dylan had no trouble
managing on his own-after all, as the leader of
the Yellowtail Squadron, he had undergone extensive training.
Stopping outside Suzy's door, he hesitated. His hand hovered near the door,
ready to knock, but after several moments of indecision, he lowered it and
wheeled himself away.
Instead, he rolled up to Victor's door and knocked. It took a while before he heard movement
from inside.

When he finally opened the door, Victor's face was still clouded with sleep. He frowned at the sight of Dylan.
"What now?"
"Breakfast," Dylan said tersely.
"I'm not hungry. You go by yourself—" Victor cut himself off mid-sentence under Dylan's piercing stare. He sighed
and relented. "Fine. Suddenly, | feel a little hungry. Let's go. I'll push you."
As they reached Suzy's door, Victor grinned knowingly. "Suzy's probably still sleeping, right? It was a late night
for everyone. It's already past ten. She must be starving by now. Letwake her so she can join us."
Last night, Victor had been among the crowd of onlookers who eventually returned to their rooms. However,
before leaving, he had peeked through the door crack and caught the ending of the .
Watching Dylan retreat yet again, Victor had nearly stormed out to confront him, but he' managed to restrain
himself.
This was between Dylan and Suzy, and as an outsider, it wasn't his place to interfere too much. Besides, Suzy
herself hadn't said anything.
That didn't stop Victor from silently criticizing Dylan's behavior, though.
A woman like Suzy had already gone to such lengths, proving she didn't care about his

condition and was ready to accept whatever cwith it. Yet Dylan, stuck in his endless worry, couldn't stop
second-guessing everything.
If Dylan kept this up, Suzy's patience would eventually run out. When that happened, he'd regret it so much he
wouldn't even have a grave to cry over!
After silently roasting Dylan in his mind, Victor knocked on Suzy's door. "Suzy, wake up! It's tto eat!"
He called out several times, but there was no response.
"Still asleep, or just ignoring me?" Victor muttered, leaning toward the latter. "Should | keep knocking?"
Dylan's gaze darkened slightly. "Let her sleep."
Victor shrugged. "Alright, then. Shall we go eat first?"
"Yeah,"
The two headed to the restaurant, but before they even placed their orders, Dylan spoke. "Call Allen too."
Victor raised an eyebrow. "Sure, I'll give him a ring."
The phone rang and rang, but no one picked up.
"He's not answering," Victor said, frowning.
"Keep calling," Dylan ordered firmly.
Victor sighed and dialed again, trying over and over, but it was no use. After a dozen tries, he finally asked, "Still
wantto keep calling?"

"Maybe he's just not hungry?"
"Gol"
"Fine, fine!" Victor grumbled as he made his way to Allen's room, bracing himself
for what felt like an unnecessary errand.
But when he got there, it wasn't Allen who answered the door-it was housekeeping. The staff informed him that
Allen had already checked out.
This was bad news.
Victor rushed back to Dylan, his expression grim. "Suzy's gone!"
