Drake?

The nalone carried an air of intimidation.

"If that's the case, then | might as well meet him," Suzy thought. "Who knows? | might even be able to use him."

With that in mind, Suzy ignored the couple, allowing them to carry her to the car in the dead of night.

The two seemed completely engrossed in their banter, utterly oblivious that Suzy, lying in the backseat, had her

eyes open and was memorizing every twist and turn of the road.

Suzy initially assumed they were a married couple, but it turned out they weren't.

Believing she was unconscious, the two spoke without any restraint. The man, whom the woman called Barret,

was especially crude-his conversation filled with vulgarity, and his hands constantly wandering.

At one point, when the woman, Aruna, said she needed to step out for a bathroom break, Barret insisted on

accompanying her. The two ended up rolling around on the grass outside.

Hearing their increasingly loud moans, Suzy felt like her ears were being polluted.

Thankfully, they had at least a shred of decency not to engage in such behavior inside the car.

Half an hour later, they finally finished and climbed back into the vehicle, both still catching their breath.

Barret, still buzzing with excitement, grinned and called out, "Aruna, you're something else! I've never been with

anyone better than you. You should stick with me-being with that loser of yours is such a waste!"

Aruna shoved his face away. "Even if he's a loser, he's still my man, so watch your mouth! If | weren't feeling

horny myself, do you think I'd even bother with someone like you? You think you're so great?"

Barret sneered. "Oh, look at you defending him. Anyone watching would think you actually love that loser. If you

did, you wouldn't be acting like a public bus, letting every man take a ride."

He added with a smirk, "And your kid? There's no way he's that loser's son."

That last comment made Aruna snap. Her anger reached its peak as she grabbed Barret by the throat. "Are you

deaf, or just incapable of understanding human speech? Barret, if | hear you call him a loser one more time, I'll

end you!"

Barret knew Aruna's temper well enough to realize that if he truly angered her, she was the type to turn on

anyone, no matter who they were. Quickly, he began pleading, "Alright,

alright, I won't say it again!"

When Aruna finally let him go, she pointed a finger at his nose and warned, "You'd better remember that!"

It was clear that Aruna cared deeply about her husband.

But if that was the case, why was she so willing to fool around with other men?

It seemed Aruna had her own story-one that was likely far more complicated than it appeared.

The car started up again, and after another half-hour of driving, they finally reached their destination: a

nightclub.

Suzy was carried by the two into the building, up to the fifth floor, and into a private room thick with smoke and

chaos. The air was so heavy with the stench of cigarettes that it made her throat burn, and she had to fight back

a cough.

Barret, trying to impress, approached a man seated on a single armchair with his back to them. Barret bent over

in deference, his tone fawning. "Mr. Drake, I've brought you something special. In all my life, I've never seen a

woman more stunning than her. She's from Zentora, no less!

"With your birthday coming up, | thought this would be the perfect gift for you. | hope you'll accept it!"

The man called Drake didn't even flinch, as if he hadn't heard a word. He sat unmoving, radiating an air of

indifference.

Barret, clearly nervous, didn't dare speak again and simply stood there, stiff and awkward.

Tdragged on, and though it couldn't have been more than five minutes, it felt much longer.

Leaning against Aruna, Suzy remained calm, though she noticed that Aruna was beginning to look

uncomfortable, shifting slightly as if the tension in the room was wearing on her.
