"If you have nothing good to say, then you better leave," Fiona sail as she fixed her hair. "You are not needed

"You can tell that prince of yours to leave. | have something in discuss with you," Thomas ordered. He could feel
Prince Elijah standing outside, waiting for Tuma to finish fixing hersell for the event at dir silace.
Fiona smorted, "bach it entertaining that you cin here and make sdemands?" she asked, turning to
face her father. The old man had arrived just as she was almost done with her preparations. She never thought
he would actually be this shameless and start ordering her around! Did he think this was the packhouse" "The
only reason he agreed to leave is because | asked him to?
Lond Rosenthawed his eyes. He straightened his back as if he wanted to appear even taller than Fiona Seeing
this, Fiona smirked. | believe there is no way you would cin here without something important on your minil.
Pray tell, Father." she smiled, a smile that didn't reach her ryes. """Why waste your twith someone like met
Lord Rosenthal's eyes narrowed as he took a step closer, his hands clasped behind his back. "I'll forgive your
behavior for now," he said, his gaze flickering toward the door. "I understand this sudden burst of courage comes
from the prince standing outside. You wouldn't dare speak this way i

Fiona didn't flinch. Instead, she tilted her head, a falm smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she raised an
eyebrow. She said nothing, her silence a deliberate act of defiance.
Thomas straightened, his sharp gaze assessing her. "How did you learn to manipulate poison in your blood?" he
asked abruptly, his words slicing through the tension in the room. That isn't something someone of your limited
experience should even attempt." Fiona's short was soft but dismissive. She turned away, smoothing a crease in
her dress. "I don't know what you're talking about. Father"
Thomas's eyes narrowed further, the muscles in his jaw tightening. "What you did to yourself was reckless and
foolish," he said. "That technique is far too dangerous, even for someone with decades of training. You shouldn't
have survived it, let alone controlled it." Fiona turned back to him. "Elaborate," she said. "What exactly are you
accusingof?"
Thomas's lips pressed into a thin line. "Make the prince leave," he said after a pause. Then I'll tell you
Fiona raised an eyebrow, her smile unfaltering. Without another word, she moved to the door, opening it to
reveal Elijah leaning casually against the frame. His arms were crossed, and the slight twitch at the corner of his
mouth told her all she needed to know. "You heard everything" Fiona said plainly, her tone almost anused.
Elijah didn't move: "I did
She studied him for a moment before sighing. "I can handle him," she said. "It won't take long."
Elijali's eyes didn't leave hers, the hesitation clear in his stance, Finally, after a long moment, he gave a slight
no. "I'll be just outside," he said, his gare shutting briefly to Thomas before he stepped away.

Thomas's rapressanti was calculating as he began to pace slowly. "For years, | believed Elise was the one blessed
by the goddess," he said, his steps deliberate. "She had the ability to lical-it seemed clear. But her abilities have
plateaued. She's never advanced beyond simple healing, never duplayed the precision or control required to
manipulate her own blood."
Fiona remained still, watching him with a mix of curiosity and wariness. She was really curious about this old
man's motive. Was it just because of
Thomas stopped paring, his gaze locking onto hers. "And yet, here you are. Poison coursing through your veins,
your body simultaneously destroying and repairing itself with a level of control that shouldn't be possible for
somesse who only awakened their abilities not long ago." Fiona didn't respond, her face a mask of calm as she
let him continue
"Perhaps | was wrong" Thomas admitted, though the words cwith difficulty. "Perhaps you were the one
blessed by the goddess. But because you and Elise were born so close to one another, she received a fragment
of that blessing. It would explain why both of you have healing abilities-

one far superior the other merely adequate."
Fiona's lips twitched. "A fragment" she repeated. "That's your theory!"
Thomas's gaze hardened. "Do not mock me, Fiona What you did with the poison is not normal, not natural. It is
something even | would hesitate
to attempt."
"Then maybe" Fiona said lightly. "You should reconsider underestimating me."
Thomas's jaw tightened, his fists clenching briefly at his sides. "If what | suspect is true, then you're more
dangerous than even you realize. And you'll need guidance."

Fiona's smile widened, though it didn't reach her eyes. "Guidance? From you? That's rich."
Thomas ignored her jab, his focus unwavering. "You think you've won, don't you?" he said. "You think that prince
out there will protect you forever. But mark my words. Fiona-you don't know the half of what you've inherited.
And when the tcomes, you'll regret not listening to me."
Fiona's gaze didn't waver. "You're right," she said. "I don't know half of it. But here's the thing. Father-I don't need
to. I've done just fine figuring in out on my own."
Thomas's lips pressed into a thin line, his frustration barely contained.
"I will guide you." Lord Rosenthal declared abruptly. His expression was so strained. Fiona nearly burst into
applause. He looked as though he'd swallowed his pride-and possibly his own blood. His attempts at gravitas fell
flat, and Fiona could only attribute his lack of finesse to his upbringing outside the palace. "I will help you control
your ability, provide the guidance you need. But only if you return to the pack," he continued
Fiona arched an eyebrow, her lips pressing into a thin line. She itched to hurl a biting retort but restrained
herself, letting the silence speak louder than words
When she didn't respond, her father pressed on. "The ability you possess is extraordinary, far beyond what
anyone could anticipate. Without proper guidance from someone who understands it, your body could suffer
irreparable harm-or worse, it could kill you." Still, Fiona said nothing. Her only response was a deliberate smile,
one that didn't reach her eyes. She already knew his angle, his manipulations. But this time, she vowed, he
wouldn't succeed.
"End my life!" Fiona finally broke the silence.
Thomas's expression remained grave as he fixed his gaze on her. If Fiona hadn't endured his cruelty firsthand,
she might have been swayed by his sincerity. "So, letget this straight," she continued, her voice laced with
mockery. "You're saying | must return to the pack, or I'll die!" This time, she couldn't suppress the laugh bubbling
in her chest. It escaped, sharp and bitter. "Father, I've already escaped that hell. What on earth makes you think
I'd willingly go back with you?"
