Back in the day, Alex had never worn formal suits. Even after taking over Warren Group, he avoided ties like the plague. Once, during an important meeting, he'd been forced to wear one, only to rip it off before even entering the room.
He'd complained that it felt like a dog leash around his neck. It wasn't until later that Ellie found out the tie had been tied by the old butler, whose hands shook, making it too tight.
Ellie handed the tie to a female salesperson, but Alex snatched it back. "You're going to learn," he said, placing the tie in Ellie's hands.
With the salesperson guiding her, Ellie fumbled through tying the tie. Alex leaned down, his arms resting on the counter behind her, effectively trapping her in a small space.
