X This sudden barrage of questions had Selena choking on her own spit, causing her to cough and blush a bright pink.

"Selena, you alright?" Callum asked, handing her a few tissues.

Everett's gaze cut sharply towards the calm Callum, his dark eyes narrowing with a chill that shattered the previously warm atmosphere. The room felt charged with tension.

Grace clutched her chest, feeling too embarrassed to look up. She had hoped Selena might bring ha future husband, but two at once? How were they going to get through this without a hitch? Marian, looking equally anxious, quietly edged behind the grandmother, hoping to avoid any fallout.

Initially, Selena reached for the tissue, but Everett's intense glare stopped her in her tracks. It was as if his eyes warned her: touch the tissue, and you're in for it. Her fingers trembled slightly, but she managed to keep them still. Instead, she grabbed stissues herself, dabbed her lips, and tossed them into the trash.

"Grandma, letclear things up," she said, standing and moving beside Everett. Facing Grace, she said lightly, "You've got it wrong. This is Everett, your grandson-in-law." Grace looked stunned. "Then... who's this gentleman?" Her eyes darted to the gentle and refined Callum.

Selena chuckled, "This is Dr. Callum Campbell, my... good friend and Everett's close buddy. He's here for a charity clinic workshop, and we just happened to meet outside, which caused this mix-up." As she finished, Callum rose, too, offering an apologetic smile. "Grandma Grace, I'm sorry. I overheard your conversation with Selena and wanted to make you happy. I didn't mean for things to get all tangled up." Grace patted his hand, showing no sign of blame. She even said, "No need to apologize. I jumped to conclusions and made things awkward." Selena thought she caught a hint of regret in Grace's voice.

Callum turned to Everett. "Everett, hope you're not upset." Everett's lips were a tight line, eyes cold. Selena knew this look-it meant he wasn't pleased, and it made her nervous. Worried he'd lose his cool and upset Grandma, she quickly chimed in, "Why would Everett be bothered? It's just a misunderstanding. He's not the type to hold a grudge." She squeezed Everett's hand, flashing a smile, her eyes wide and imploring, "Right, darling?"

Everett glanced down, meeting her gaze. Her eyes were 160k dark and shiny, dark at and when she looked at him like that, it was hard to resist. Every tshe wanted to win him

over, she'd use this look, and he couldn't help but give in. Her softened demeanor or the way she called him "darling" made him ease up a bit. He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her close.

Together they moved forward. His Settle gaze swept past Callum and settled on Grace, his deep Voice resonating, "Grandma, sorry for being late. I got caught up with sthings." Grace examined him closely. The content is Fly beneath the radar! Check n novelenglish.net! Read the latest out radar detectors at...
