Chapter 143: Wild and Feral Killian's POV As I was about to answer Giselle, I abruptly fell into silence when a sudden movement in the shadows caught my eye.
Before I could react, a blur of motion exploded out of nowhere, a wild, feral snarl ripping through the air.
Giselle barely had the tto gasp before she was tackled to the ground. A fierce, snarling figure pinned her down.
"Astrid?!" I exclaimed, stunned by the unexpected turn of events.
I couldn't believe that the wild, feral figure that appeared out of nowhere and tackled Giselle to the ground was actually Astrid. I even had no idea where her strength cfrom.
The first tthat I met Astrid again here at Emberwood Pack, the first thing I noticed was the great change in her health.
Astrid had seemed so weak, so broken, a mere shadow of the vibrant and confident Astrid that I had once known.
Astrid is a pure-blooded omega. Her wolf has always been weak, even before, and now she has becsignificantly weaker.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtI doubt that Astrid would be able to tackle Giselle on the ground so easily, even if she is still as strong and healthy as she was before.
The gap that Giselle has against Astrid is too wide for her to reach. And yet, here she is now, ferocious and unyielding as she wrestled with Giselle.
Giselle struggled beneath Astrid's vice-like grip, her eyes wide with fear and confusion. "Astrid, stop! What are you doing?" she cried out, but Astrid only bared her teeth in response, a savage growl rumbling in her chest.
I stood rooted to the spot, my anger momentarily forgotten. as I watched the two of them grapple in the dirt.
Astrid was always a fierce and formidable fighter, but I had never seen her like this - her movements were wild, almost feral, as she sought to overpower Giselle.
"Astrid, stand down!" I commanded, my voice sharp and authoritative.
I am still the Alpha of the Silvermoon Pack, and Giselle is still a member of our Pack. I can't let Astrid wrestle Giselle to death in front of me.
Besides, no matter what the issue is. She cannot resort to violence.
Astrid's fiery gaze flickered to me. A chill went down my spine when our gaze met. It was just a mere second, but I instantly knew that something was wrong with her when I met her gaze.
My brows furrowed, and my eyes squinted when I sensed something strange about Astrid's behavior.
Astrid used to be our Pack Warrior before. I have watched her duel and train many times before. I could confidently say that I am very familiar with her fighting style.
The way she is fighting against Giselle doesn't seem like her. They are just grappling on the dirt; she's not using any of the moves that she has learned. She's not even saying anything. Aside from her deep growls and rumbles, she hadn't said a word since she launched herself at Giselle.
As I watched Astrid and Giselle grapple in the dirt, a growing sense of unease settled over me. This is not the Astrid I knew - the fragile, timid woman I had seen just a short tago. en No, this was a force of nature, a wild and feral creature unleashed.
The way she moved, with such raw power and determination, sent a chill down my spine.
I had never seen her like this, and the sudden realization that something was deeply wrong hitlike a punch to the gut.
Without hesitation, I rushed forward, grabbing hold of Astrid, desperately trying to pull her away from Giselle. "Astrid, stop!" I pleaded, my voice laced with a mixture of fear and concern. "Get a hold of yourself!" However, my words did nothing to Astrid. Her eyes were wild and unfocused as she thrashed against my grip. It was like trying to hold back a wild animal, her strength shockingto the core.
I even had to use all my Alpha authority to subdue her, yet even so, I still struggled to hold her still.
"Someone help Giselle and keep her away from Astrid," I commanded to the people who were just standing around and staring at us. Hearing my command, they woke up from their stupor and did as I commanded.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmI was afraid that I wouldn't be strong enough to hold back Astrid. Aside from me, there are no Alphas or even Betas around us. I'm the only one who can hold Astrid down.
I have to do something; I have to reach the woman I had once known I beneath this primal, vengeful creature before I lose hold of her. I know that the others wouldn't be as forgiving as me. They might kill her if their lives were threatened.
"Astrid, please," I begged, my hold on her slipping as she continued tom struggle "This isn't you. I need you to cback to me. Lethelp you." Yet, my words fell on deaf ears as Astrid remained single-handedly focused on her task - to end Giselle.
I could see the pure, unbridled hatred in her eyes, a darkness that I had never witnessed before.
It terrified me, this transformation of the woman I had cared for.
And so, I did the only thing that I could do. I turned her around to face me. I was hoping that she would calm down once Giselle was out of her sight. I turned her around, and then I hugged her.
I hugged her as tight as I could so she could feel how much I really yearned for her all this time.
