Chapter 195 Chapter 195: "Why don't you have any shas a woman?" Corley criticized Phoebe as soon as he spoke. He then turned to face Jacob, saying, "I warned you about messing around with these types. Look at the mess you've caused." Jacob pressed his lips together and looked at Phoebe. He didn't respond to her, so she stayed put. The tension was palpable. Corley called the security guard without hesitation, "Escort this woman out." "If anyone lays a hand on me, I'll kill myself in front of the hotel's gate!" Phoebe threatened. "Mr. Meyer, there's no need to call security. Just have your son answer my question, and I'll leave at once." If she died here, it would be a serious matter. The Meyer and Beckett families would be caught up in a scandal with potentially lifelong negative consequences.

Corley gritted his teeth and ordered Jacob, "Get rid of her." Jacob clenched his jaw and averted his gaze from Phoebe. He appeared conflicted, his brow deeply furrowed. A myriad of emotions flashed across his face. His silence exhausted everyone's patience and left Phoebe in an awkward position.

"Phoebe, can't you see? Maybe he cares for you a little bit and doesn't want to humiliate you in front of everyone. If you're smart, you'll get out of here now," Megan said. Megan clutched Jacob's arm, noticing his body tense up because of her action. Her expression changed for a moment before she regained her composure. Phoebe's lips trembled as she asked, “Is that true?" Jacob remained silent, lowering his eyes to hide his thoughts. Corley muttered a curse under his breath, signaling Jacob to resolve the issue quickly. But Jacob remained unmoved, neither agreeing nor refusing.

Phoebe's heart sank. She sneered, “Alright, I get it. If you're not coming with me, we should never see each other again." Stay updated gvlWith that, Phoebe turned and walked away, the hem of her dress swishing through the air. Jacob snapped back to reality as he watched her hurry away from the crowd. He took a small step forward, but Corley gripped his shoulder. "Don't you dare leave here," Corley said.

All the strength seemed to drain from Jacob's body as he watched in frustration as Phoebe vanished down the hall. Corley signaled for everyone to resthe engagement party.

"I'm going to check on Phoebe," Eileen said, noticing that Jacob hadn't followed her. She felt a pang of sympathy for Phoebe.

Noticing her frown, Bryan spoke slowly. "Jacob's mother isn't well and can't handle this stress. That's why he can't just leave the party." Only then did Eileen realize that Jacob's mother wasn't present at the engagement celebration. So his mother's health condition must be serious.

"I understand now. I'll talk to Phoebe. You go ahead with your plans," Eileen said.

Bryan looked a bit concerned. "Stay in touch. I'll meet you in about an hour when the engagement ceremony is over." Seeing his concerned expression, Eileen reassured him, "I've only been away from Onaland for a year, and it's not like I haven't been here before. You don't have to worry about me." Bryan handed Eileen his car keys. As Eileen exited the hotel, she spotted Phoebe's car driving off. She jumped into Bryan's car and followed.

Eileen hurried off, unaware that Megan had been watching her since she first saw her. After Phoebe had left, Megan noticed that the woman in the down jacket beside Bryan was Eileen. Megan had seen her standing next to Phoebe the entire tbut hadn't paid much attention. Based on Eileen's attire, Megan had assumed she was one of the poor friends Phoebe had made after leaving the Burton family. She never expected it to be Eileen! "It must have been Eileen who persuaded Phoebe to do this," Megan muttered. She couldn't believe that Phoebe and Eileen had chere together to cause her trouble.

Megan gritted her teeth and excused herself to the bathroom to call Vivian, only to learn that Vivian was in Wist Land now.

"You said Eileen went to Onaland?" Vivian was shocked to hear Megan mention seeing Eileen. Vivian was still in Wist Land, eagerly waiting to see how Eileen would handle the turmoil at the education agency. She hadn't expected Eileen to go to Onaland to see Bryan. “This bitch! She's fawning over Bryan and completely disregarding the chaos at the education agency," Vivian muttered to herself.

"Yes, she cto my engagement party with Phoebe and caused a scene..." Megan explained the details to Vivian.

"I can't believe you're just letting her get away with it! If you don't make her face the consequences of messing with you now, you'll be mocked for the rest of your life," Vivian said before hanging up.

Vivian was certain Eileen had gone to Onaland to seek Bryan's help. She needed to worsen the situation for Eileen before Bryan could act.

Meanwhile, Megan felt depressed and resentful after her call with Vivian. She quickly dialed another number...

Phoebe drove aimlessly through Onaland. After leaving the Burton family, she had gone to Wist Land and now had nowhere else to go in Onaland. Eileen seized the right moment to bring Phoebe's car to a stop. Stepping out of her own car, she approached Phoebe's vehicle and rapped on the window.

The window rolled down, revealing tear stains on Phoebe's face. Though she appeared somewhat sober, the strong scent of alcohol clung to her.

"Soon there'll be a DUI check. If you don't want to get arrested, get out and get in my car now," Eileen said. Eileen reached into Phoebe's car, unlocked the doors, and swung one open, pulling Phoebe out. She then guided Phoebe into the passenger seat of her own car. After parking Phoebe's car nearby, Eileen drove off with Phoebe.

Phoebe remained silent.

Slumping against the seat, Phoebe turned her head to gaze out the window. Her eyes were red from both drinking and crying.

"Lalaro Hotel," she suddenly said.

It took Eileen a moment to realize that Phoebe was telling her the hotel where she was staying. It seemed the hotel was mid-range, with standard rooms costing around three or four hundred dollars per day. Eileen wasn't familiar with that hotel; she had always stayed in five-star accommodations while working for Bryan.

She followed the navigation to drive to the hotel. Just as she stopped the car and unbuckled her seatbelt, she heard Phoebe ask, "Are you going back to Wist Land?" "Of course. When do you want to leave?" Eileen had arranged to pick up Ruby from the hospital with Bailee in two days.

"Maybe tomorrow. I've done what I wanted to do here, but I won't be so cruel as to stop you and Bryan from seeing each other properly." Phoebe unclipped her seat belt and stepped out of the car. Before shutting the door, she uttered, "You can head back now. I'll be okay." As soon as Phoebe finished speaking, Eileen unbuckled her seat belt and exited the car. After shutting the door behind her, she strode over to Phoebe and ushered her toward the hotel.

"Here's your car key, by the way. Just remember to park your car in a suitable place before you leave tomorrow." Eileen retrieved the car key from her pocket and handed it to Phoebe.

Phoebe hesitated for a moment. Then, she took the key, turned, and tossed it into a nearby trash can.

"It's not actually my car; Jacob lent it to me. How considerate of him, right?" Phoebe said. However, she resolved to break Jacob's heart.

Eileen's mouth twitched. That car was worth millions of dollars, at least.

Adjacent to the hotel was a grocery store. Phoebe led Eileen inside to purchase beer and snacks. It appeared Phoebe intended to drown her sorrows in wine again. Eileen didn't stop Phoebe, merely citing a stomachache as her reason for not drinking.

"Then you can just watchdrink. If I get too drunk, just tossin bed and leave," Phoebe said as she opened the door to her hotel room. "Is there something off about the Meyer family? I've had plenty to drink at the party, yet I don't feel a thing now. Are their drinks watered down?" The idea of the Meyer family serving fake wine was absurd. Eileen understood this was just Phoebe's way of expressing her frustration. Having checked in earlier in the morning, Phoebe's room was clean and tidy. She beckoned Eileen to join her, sitting on a blanket by the window.

"Life is so wonderful! While others shiver in the cold, I'm here sipping beer in this warm room,” Phoebe exclaimed, gazing out the window. "Eileen, yourer my lucky charm, you know? If I hadn't found you back then, I might have starved to death. So, Eileen, I hope you'll find your happiness..." She gripped Eileen's arm, munching on snacks and sipping beer. "I saw Stella at the hospital," Eileen said with a smile. “She's okay with Bryan andbeing together. So, don't worry about me. Focus on yourself. Don't act rashly. Bryan and I will support you as much as we can." Phoebe froze, then quickly sat up straight. "That's fantastic news! Stella is quite cunning. If she approves of you and Bryan being together, then there won't be any problems!" Describing Stella as "cunning" might coff as impolite, but it certainly captured her shrewdness accurately. Eileen also believed Stella was quite calculating.

"As long as Stella doesn't have a change of heart, you'll be the future wife of Bryan. Who would dare not treat you with respect? Then, I'll just have to ride on your coattails. You're my ready-made source of wealth..." Phoebe slurred, clutching Eileen's arm.

Eileen just nodded, replying to Bryan's text.

The engagement party proceeded smoothly, almost as if Phoebe's outburst had never occurred. However, Jacob's demeanor had been solemn ever since Phoebe left. After discussing Jacob and Phoebe briefly, Bryan inquired about what Stella had said to Eileen.

Eileen replied to him vaguely, saying that they could discuss it later in the evening. However, within thirty m minutes, Bryan had Xeft Jacob's engagement party. Phoebe was completely wasted, sprawled on the floor. Concerned for her, Eileen booked a room nearby and asked Bryan to meet her at the hotel.

Half an hour later, Bryan arrived. His tall figure stood out in the cramped hallway. It was the first tEileen had seen Bryan in such an average hotel. Despite that, his suit and shoes gave him an air of dignity. The clothes he wore were worth more than the entire hotel. The receptionist had personally escorted him to this floor. "Do we have to stay here?" Bryan surveyed the surroundings, his expression turning sour. A peculiar odor lingered in the air.

Eileen gestured to Phoebe's room. "She's had too much to drink. What if she wakes up and bolts in the middle of the night?" Bryan just checked his watch. Without a word, he followed Eileen into the next room. Inside, there were two single beds with a cabin between. Seeing this, Bryan didn't comment.

"How are you holding up?” he asked, referring to her diarrhea.

"I still feel a bit unwell, but I haven't had diarrhea again," Eileen replied. Then she added, "But I don't think I can do any strenuous exercise at the moment."
