It had taken over a month to get Nathaniel to agree to reconcile, so she now behaved very sweetly around him.
She could also feel that his attitude had grown colder-though still polite, it was no longer as patient as it used to
be. Whenever he was occasionally impatient, his
demeanor turned icy.
